Your toothbrush and holder

Think about where you store your toothbrush, and if it’s near the toilet – move it! Always rinse it thoroughly and replace it regularly, especially when you have been sick. So to clean any mold and mildew in the bathroom, use a powerful cleaner such as Lysol® Mold & Mildew Blaster during your deep clean. You can use by spraying on and wiping off with a paper towel, or, for those tougher mold or mildew stains – let it sit for 10 minutes while you do your other work before taking it off.

Shower curtains and doors

Your shower curtains and doors are the most susceptible to getting wet and staying wet, making them magnets for mold and mildew. To keep mold and mildew from forming, store a small squeegee in the shower and use it to wipe down the walls and door after every few showers. For shower curtains, you should clean them with something such as Lysol® Mold & Mildew Blaster or put them in the wash every week if they’re machine-washable.

Some extra tips to keep your bathroom clean

As well as giving your bathroom its regular express and deep cleans, here are some of our other quick and easy tips for keeping your bathroom clean, no matter how much time you have:

DO clean little and often:

Cleaning for ten minutes when you can will save a lot of time and effort in the long run. If you always have Lysol® Dual Action Wipes handy, you can wipe down sinks, tiles, toilet seats, bath tubs and trash cans as well as the bathroom floor easily – and kill 99% of bacteria.

DO flush after you’ve shut the toilet lid:

Always close the lid of your toilet when you flush to stop germs from spreading all over your bathroom. Clean your toilet bowl weekly with toilet cleaner and a toilet brush and then wipe the toilet seat, lid and flush with Lysol® Disinfecting Wipes.

DO open the window when showering or bathing:

To kill mold and mildew in the bathroom, use Lysol® Mold & Mildew Blaster and simply spray on pre-cleaned surfaces until thoroughly wet. Let the surface air dry and repeat application at weekly intervals.
